Program Overview |
|
Organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics state that the potential benefits of human milk are such that all preterm infants should receive it. Evidence is now available supporting lower mortality, fewer hospital admissions, and reduced secondary diseases with human milk strategies. This module will provide an overview the benefits of human milk, highlight recent evidence, and discuss practical implementation strategies for hospital based neonatologists and caregivers. This program will also discuss future directions in neonatal nutrition.
This module was captured at the Innovations in Human Milk: Putting Evidence to Practice satellite symposium at the 2015 Hot Topics in Neonatology® in Washington, D.C.
